West Lodge was originally built in 1821 for Sir George Mackenzie of Coul as a traditional entrance lodge to the main Hunting Lodge which is now a fine country hotel.

North Most Cottage is at the north end of twin cottages which were once estate workers homes on the Coul Hunting Estate that forms part of a private nook of the beautiful hamlet of Contin. On the edge the North West Highlands and the lower slopes of Ben Wyvis.
